Marijuana DUI Law Fails to Pass California State Legislature A proposed law that would lead to marijuana DUI conviction based on trace amounts of THC in the blood failed to pass California’s state legislature. The law, AB 2500, was proposed by Assemblyman Jim Frazier, and would have led to DUI convictions based on any THC metabolites found in the suspect’s blood stream. New Study Shows South Carolina Ranks 3rd in the Country for DUI Accidents and Deaths A new study shows that South Carolina has the third most DUI-related accidents and deaths in the country. In 2012 alone, 360 people were killed in accidents related to driving under the influence, or DUI. The state also ranked 20th in the country for DUI arrests, at 17,906 arrests in 2012.
