Memorial Day Weekend Sees Drunk Driver Flee DUI Checkpoint According to authorities, a drunk driver struck a highway patrolman after fleeing a Memorial Day DUI checkpoint. The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office reports that 26-year-old Elizah Robertson of Goose Creek, SC, tried to flee a traffic checkpoint that had been set up to near Myers Road. NTSB Suggests Lowering Blood Alcohol Content Limits to Prevent Drunk Driving Deaths The National Transportation Safety Board recommended on Tuesday, May 14th, that states across the US lower their legal blood alcohol limit from 0.08 to 0.05, to help prevent drunk driving accidents. Currently, all 50 states have the legal blood alcohol content (BAC) limit at 0.08. Sophia Anderson, 21, from Brooklyn allegedly drank approximately 15 drinks before getting behind the wheel of a Mercedes and crashing it into, 96 year old, Helen Indiere’s kitchen.
